Daniel Bass is an all-but-typical Hollywood soul.
Daniel made his first big splash in Hollywood with his 2014 filmmaking debut co-producing the dramatic Middle Eastern biopic Desert Dancer (Relativity Media), in which he also played the supporting role of Bijan. His next project, The Edge of Night, is currently in the works. The film, written by Craig Borten, Oscar nominated writer of Dallas Buyers Club, focuses on Johnny, an ambitious writer whose heroin addiction threatens to ruin a prolific Hollywood career. Film production is the driving force of Daniel’s life. In 2017, he noted, “The movie industry is my true passion because it is my way of projecting a certain life experience. A film can exude deep meaning and bring pleasure to an audience. A timeless film can become a legend. It can last forever.”
All film legends begin somewhere. Born in North Hollywood, California, Daniel Bass started acting at age six, when his mother enrolled him in a community drama school. He thrived at an early age, taking a strong interest in both the performance and production aspects of the shows. It was at this time when he also grew keen on music, learning how to sing and play several instruments, both of which he would go on to master. Daniel’s family soon relocated to New York City, where he began to regularly take part in acting and musical theater projects at school, and continued until college.
Earning his stripes early as a jewelry designer between theatrical ventures, Daniel has established himself as a glamourous international jeweler, managing his eponymous line of precious cuffs, necklaces, earrings, and more. His mission through jewelry is simple: give everyone the power to feel like a princess or a rock star, no matter how “regular” they feel in their daily lives. Daniel Bass jewelry is made from natural healing elements like earth-derived gemstones, precious metals, and fancy colored diamonds. Daniel combines these materials to create timeless mini art pieces with his signature edge.
Always on a quest to better himself, Daniel meandered into the culinary world. While juggling various projects, he came to the realization that in order to do good work and stay healthy, nutrition should be at his life’s forefront. He rose to prominence in New York as a celebrity natural foods chef, cooking satisfying, delicious, and healthy food for the likes of Dr. Mehmet Oz. Never straying far from the arts world, Daniel takes pride in the presentation of his food as well as showcasing its health boosting benefits.
Of all of his pursuits, Daniel sees his philanthropy as the most fulfilling. Having chaired a number of events, including Russell Simmons’ Art For Life gala and Dr. Oz’s HealthCorps gala (where he cooked for all 100 guests), he hopes to continue to contribute a lasting social impact alongside his numerous professional endeavors.
